25 Feb 2020 – In anticipation of increased demand for virtual meeting services stemming from COVID-19, MedPoint Digital announced it is increasing operational capacity. Steps include re-tasking current staff who have previous experience managing virtual meeting projects, as well as adding new staff members for immediate training in Help Desk and other areas of operational support. In terms of technology, virtual meeting and support systems currently have excess capacity and are highly scalable. However, as a precaution, the company is taking immediate measures to ramp up capacity and perform quality assurance testing on expanded technology resources. Other infrastructure, such as workspace and equipment, are also components of the current plan for capacity expansion.
MedPoint has already seen a sharp increase in virtual meeting demand, especially for on-site meetings that are being converted with short notice into virtual meetings. Many clients are also increasing use of hybrid meetings that combine onsite and virtual attendees. Such activities are on the rise as several leading biopharm clients have recently enacted new policies restricting travel and meetings.
